Self-Forgiveness Meditation for Pluto
| For help with | : forgiving yourself for past mistakes and for leading yourself into difficult situations : self-love and clearing the heart chakra |
This exercise works for men or women, but the language here is written in the feminine.
1. Burn your favourite aromatherapy or scented candle, if you wish. Sit in a comfortable and quiet place, and close your eyes. Focus your attention on yourself. Spend some time feeling your entire body, from head to toe. Breathe deeply. Now, focus your attention on your chest, and tap into what you are feeling in your heart about yourself.
2. If there are heavy emotions there, determine what they are. Is it anger, fear, disgust, hatred, grief, shame? A combination?
3. Now travel back to the root of those emotions. At what times in your life did you find yourself overwhelmed by similar emotions? What age were you? Form an image in your mind’s eye of yourself at one particular age, a time in life that was especially difficult. See what you looked like, what clothes you wore then, how your hair was. In your mind’s eye, see yourself meeting that younger version of yourself. Feel the fear, pain, confusion, insecurity, etc. of that younger version of you. Acknowledge the issues that she was dealing with at the time. Understand how overwhelming life was for her at that time. Know what courage it took just to keep going. Feel the love you have in your heart for that younger version of you. Imagine yourself giving her a big hug, pressing your cheek to her’s. Feel the energy of love being transmitted from you to the younger version of you. Love everything about her. Spend as much time as you want with her. Tell her all the things you wish someone had told you back then. Tell her how strong she is, how proud you are of her, how grateful you are for her. Tell her how beautiful and talented she is. Stroke her hair, and tell her how much you love her. Thank her for her strength, courage and tenacity. Thank her for continuing even when things were at their toughest. Tell her that she is loved by the universe. Forgive her with your whole heart for all the missteps she made. Understand her perspective. Understand how she was doing the best she could at the time. Forgive her mistakes and her oversights. Love her. Thank her. Then, with love, release her from her duties and picture her moving away, off into the space of your mind’s eye. See her light becoming a star, hanging above you. Know that she is always shining down on you, always there, guiding you and giving you strength when you need it. Know that she is always with you. Her love is always in your heart, and her light is always right behind you.
4. Now follow the same process for the other very difficult times in your life. See yourself at all those ages. Talk to those younger versions of you. Hug and kiss them. Acknowledge them, love them and thank them in the same way. Forgive them. Then, in the same way, release them from their duties with love. See their lights moving into the distance and becoming stars.
5. When you have acknowledged all those girls and women, your heart should feel lighter and full of love and gratitude for the younger versions of you. See the constellation of stars that has been created with your life. See the younger versions of you twinkling from space in your mind’s eye. Acknowledge the beauty of your life. Thank those girls and those women, and love them from the bottom of your heart. Know that they always did the best they could through difficult times, and they got you where you are today. Know that that constellation of stars is connected to you. It is always right behind you, supporting and loving you. All the versions of you are included. All are loved equally. And one day the current version of you will become one of those stars, too, as you move forward on your evolutionary journey.
6. When you feel ready, say goodbye to your constellation. Feel the love of it in your heart and know that you carry it there. Also know that you can revisit those versions of you any time you want to. Open your eyes, and feel grateful to be who you are. Forgive yourself for mistakes you feel you’ve made. Surround yourself with love, and know that there is one person who will always be there for you - YOU! All the versions of you, past and present.
